Cybersecurity Consultant Job Description

The role of Cybersecurity Consultant involves reviewing and finalising draft policies and guidelines developed as part of the organisation's cyber security strategy.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the execution and implementation of several cybersecurity compliance initiatives.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders to provide reports and presentations on the progress of cyber projects and planning of the next phases.

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong understanding of cyber risk and security compliance from both technical and policy perspectives.

A strong background in IT risk management and governance is essential, particularly within the NSW government sector and familiarity with NSW government ICT policy is highly desirable.

We are looking for an individual who can contribute towards developing and implementing effective cybersecurity best practices and strategies.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and finalise draft policies and guidelines
  • Execute and implement cybersecurity compliance initiatives
  • Provide reports and presentations to senior stakeholders
  • Contribute to developing and implementing cybersecurity best practices and strategies
Requirements:
  • Recent demonstrated experience as a Cyber Security Analyst / Cybersecurity Consultant
  • Experience across review, assurance and compliance of Cybersecurity practices and framework across the organisation
  • Detailed experience in contributing towards Cybersecurity Best Practices Strategy
  • Detailed experience across IT Risk Assessments and Security Risk Management Strategy
  • Detailed experience and/or hands-on knowledge of ISO 27001 Framework
  • Demonstrated experience in review and auditing of ISMS based on ISO 27001
  • Demonstrated experience with regulatory and compliance of ICT activities and policies
  • Great communications skills and ability to review and update ICT Risk & Compliance Policy
  • Must be based in NSW and double vaccinated
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience in Implementation of Information Security Management Systems
  • IT Risk, Governance and Compliance experience within NSW government organisations and familiarity with government ICT policy
