About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Health Nurse to join our team at Central Australian Aboriginal Congress. As a key member of our Child Health & Engagement team, you will play a vital role in providing integrated, holistic, and coordinated services for Aboriginal children aged 0-5 years and their families.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals to deliver evidence-based child health services, including child health assessments, immunizations, and developmental screening. Your expertise will be instrumental in giving our babies and children the best start in life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality child health services, including assessments, immunizations, and developmental screening.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated, holistic, and coordinated services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families and community members to promote healthy outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of evidence-based programs and services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
Requirements
  • Current AHPRA registration with a minimum of five years clinical practice.
  • Expert knowledge of the NT vaccination schedule in relation to childhood immunizations, accredited to provide immunization or willingness to undertake accreditation.
  • Working knowledge of Child Health and an understanding of current practices, theories, and values.
  • Knowledge of child development and how it relates to Aboriginal children in Central Australia.
