Job Title: Assistant Principal - Religious Education

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Principal - Religious Education to join our team at St Francis Catholic Primary School, Ayr.

About the Role

The Assistant Principal - Religious Education (APRE) provides effective professional leadership by developing and nurturing the Catholic tradition and Religious Life of the School and the coordination of Religious Education.

The purpose of the APRE is to exercise leadership and assist with the management of the school in accordance with Catholic Education policies and in consultation with other personnel as appropriate and with due reference to Catholic Education structures, processes and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Religious Education programs that align with Catholic Education policies and standards.
  • Provide leadership and support to teachers in the delivery of Religious Education.
  • Coordinate and lead whole-school Religious Education initiatives and events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local Catholic parishes and diocesan offices.
  • Contribute to the development of the school's strategic plan and budget.
Requirements
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification with registration or eligibility for registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
  • A minimum of 8 semester units of postgraduate study in Religious Education, Scripture, Theology, Catholic Ethos and/or currently undertaking, with a commitment to completion.
  • Full accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school.
  • Commitment to the Catholic faith, an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community and free from any impediment to full communion with the church.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
