Job Title: Principal ITSM Specialist

Queensland Health is seeking a highly skilled Principal ITSM Specialist to lead and mentor a team in accordance with the approved ITSM Problem Management process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance and optimal performance of enterprise service levels by managing and performing the dissemination and implementation of policies, processes, and standards for technical configuration of the enterprise infrastructure.
  • Optimise costs of service delivery by designing and developing improvements in particular technology domains within the enterprise infrastructure.
  • Maintain and manage effective working relationships and engage with third parties that provide technical support for the enterprise infrastructure.
  • Assist in the management of the team's budget, in accordance with the appropriate financial delegations, including developing, and contributing to, funding strategies and budget submissions.
  • Assist in the leading and mentoring of the team at strategic and operational levels in the integrated operation of complex enterprise information systems to achieve defined service levels.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and promote ITIL Service Management processes primarily incident/problem/change/release management.
  • Demonstrated high-level skills and experience in managing clinical and non-clinical applications and in the delivery of integrated enterprise applications in a large and complex service delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse activities and priorities across organisational boundaries to ensure that service delivery meets agreed service levels in a customer-focused ICT environment.
  • Experience in negotiating and managing service level agreements with emphasis on a strong customer focus.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others, and work collaboratively with people including senior business and technical stakeholders to make decisions.
  • Proven ability to lead, and mentor a team of technical specialists.
  • Well-developed management skills and knowledge including high-level ability in the areas of planning, managing resources, budget preparation, and financial management.
