
Occupational Therapy Role for a Diverse Client Base

SAL Consulting is an organisation with a focus on working with complex individuals, systems and organisations throughout Australia. Our team of consultants provide various types of support and interventions to children and young people; people with a disability; and people who have mental health support needs, their families, and the organisations and government departments that support them.

We create strong, collaborative relationships with individuals and organisations through communication and working together as this plays an integral part in our practice and ethos.
Our team have expertise in neurodevelopment, attachment and trauma-informed practices, being accredited providers of the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT) through the Child Trauma Academy in the USA and an accredited NDIS Provider. We also offer services in remote Indigenous communities.
The successful candidate will work with a diverse client base including children, adults and those with complex care needs. This role offers opportunities to develop assessment skills, intervention planning and delivery, clinical supervision and professional development. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality person-centred services.
Key Responsibilities
- To conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' functional needs, sensory profile and holistic lifestyle assessment.
- To develop occupational therapy goals and intervention plans tailored to each client's unique requirements.
- To provide occupational therapy support in various settings such as home, community, schools and clinics.
- To develop individual resources and identify useful strategies for clients and their carers.
- To attend care team meetings and provide occupational therapy input.
Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent and registration with AHPRA.
Desirable Experience, Interest and Skills:
- Experience or interest in working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs.
- Experience or interest in administration and interpretation of various assessment tools.
