About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Math and Science Essential Teacher to join our team at Y Schools Queensland Senior Ipswich Campus. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering academic and wellbeing programs to students, supporting the delivery of vocational training programs, and collaborating with colleagues to achieve educational, wellbeing, and vocational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs to students, including academic and wellbeing programs.
  • Support the delivery of vocational training programs, including planning, writing, and delivering structured lessons.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan, write, and deliver structured lessons that differentiate and personalize learning for each student.
  • Assess and provide meaningful and supportive feedback and report on student learning.
  • Support students with a range of learning needs, including disabilities, behavioural disturbances, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, low levels of literacy/numeracy, and mental illness.

Requirements

  • Hold a relevant University degree and current Queensland College of Teachers Registration.
  • Math's/Science Essential Subjects (year 11 and 12) experience.
  • Apply appropriate knowledge to plan and prepare teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse characteristics, needs, and learning styles of students who are at risk of disengaging from education.
  • Knowledge to implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning processes, including the use of learning technology and assessment, to establish an appropriate learning environment in which students are encouraged to work toward their potential.
  • Effectively communicate with students, including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills and the ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive learning environment.
