Job Title: Placement Development Specialist

About the Role:

This is a critical position that plays a pivotal role in ensuring academic quality within work placements. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, assessing, and planning work placements, as well as supervising staff and mentoring them on assessing work placements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work Placement Coordination: Manage work placements in line with AQF levels, ensuring alignment of learning outcomes with learning activities and assessments.
  • Timetabling and Planning: Complete timetabling and planning processes for work placements.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor permanent and casual staff on assessing work placements.
  • Training and Assessment: Conduct work-placement training and assessment.
  • Facility Visits: Attend placement facilities to supervise and assess students during work placements.
  • Student Monitoring: Monitor student feedback, participation, academic progress, and attendance.
  • Reporting: Prepare semester work placement reports for the Academic Board.
  • Results Management: Manage the collation, moderation, and submission of results.
Requirements:

To excel in this role, applicants must possess:

  • A minimum 5 years' experience in coordinating higher education work placements or a similar role.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • High-level computer skills, including learning management systems, spreadsheets, and word processing.
