Mental Health Professional

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated mental health professional to join our team as a Psychologist in Defence Health Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work in a health centre setting supporting the diverse mental health needs of military members. Your role will involve initial intake and assessment, with flexibility to accommodate presenting need. You will have autonomy to manage your caseload, including oversight and case management of externally referred cases and the provision of internal treatment to Defence members.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and deliver evidence-based treatments
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support the mental health needs of Defence members
- Manage a caseload of Defence members, including those with complex mental health needs
- Develop and implement treatment plans that are tailored to the individual needs of Defence members
- Provide education and support to Defence members and their families
Requirements
- Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting
- Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification
