Karara Mining Limited, a subsidiary of the Ansteel Group, operates as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is recognized as one of the leading producers of iron ore and steel in China. Situated in the Mid-West region of Western Australia, approximately 200km southeast of Geraldton, Karara represents the largest mining venture and the first significant magnetite operation in the area, delivering a premium, high-grade concentrate for export to steel manufacturers.
Position Overview
We are currently in search of a Treasury Officer to enhance our Finance department located in the Perth CBD. This position will play a crucial role in supporting both the Chief Financial Officer and the Manager of Treasury & Offshore Reporting with tasks related to securing debt financing, managing debt obligations, and overseeing daily treasury operations, as well as preparing analytical reports for Group requirements.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
- Demonstrated financial expertise, with prior treasury experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a corporate setting (proficiency in Chinese is advantageous)
- Familiarity with SAP software
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Must possess Australian Citizenship or a valid work visa
- National Police clearance required
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must have the legal right to work permanently in Australia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing and submitting materials for new financing and refinancing, including the establishment of new bank accounts, obtaining bank credit approvals, managing loan disbursements, and processing associated fees.
- Support the Manager of Treasury & Offshore Reporting with post-loan management tasks, including updating loan records, managing principal and interest payments, and providing comprehensive loan usage documentation.
- Oversee daily fund management to support production and operational needs, including cash flow management, bank account oversight, foreign exchange transactions, and credit card management.
- Contribute to the treasury department's annual budget preparation, collaborate with finance on cost budgeting, and assist with bank reconciliations and related documentation.
- Conduct timely data collection and analysis for various internal reports as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
About the Karara Operation
Located in the Shire of Perenjori, Western Australia, Karara boasts an anticipated mine life exceeding 30 years. The operation features a large open-pit mine, a sophisticated ore processing and beneficiation facility, and extensive infrastructure and logistics networks. Karara operates an 80km railway connecting the mine site to the Karara Export Terminal at the Port of Geraldton, capable of handling up to 16 million tonnes per annum of export product.
