Job Role

The Registered Midwife coordinates and delivers high-quality midwifery care to patients/clients consistent with policies, procedures, and standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and guide others in providing excellence.
  • Demonstrated recent post-registration midwifery experience.
  • Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to identify key messages, issues, and concerns when communicating with others.

The vision for nursing and midwifery is to provide meaning and purpose to plan for the future; have reference to an inspirational statement that is consistent with the purpose and values of nursing and midwifery; and to inspire nurses and midwives to deliver excellent patient-centered care.

Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety, and quality principles and the role of the Registered Midwife in applying these principles.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
