About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer to join our team at Tweed Shire Council. As a key member of our water utility operations team, you will be responsible for managing the reading, maintenance, and replacement of our water meter and metered standpipe fleets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the reading, maintenance, and replacement of water meters and metered standpipes to ensure accurate and timely customer water billing.
  • Provide technical support and leadership to the meter reading team.
  • Investigate and resolve water consumption irregularities and faults, and implement corrective action.

  • A competitive salary range of $72,400 to $85,001 per annum, plus 11.5% super.
  • A 76-hour, 9-day fortnight.

Requirements
  • Certificate level qualifications or above in a related technical field, or extensive experience relevant to the role.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of water meters and metered standpipes, water billing, and relevant government regulation.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and high-level verbal and written communication skills.
