Job Overview

A Strategic IP Attorney will lead the development and implementation of a global IP strategy, aligning with business goals and innovation objectives.

The role involves managing and optimizing the company's IP portfolio across multiple jurisdictions, conducting regular audits, gap analyses, and competitor benchmarking.

This position requires strong commercial acumen, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • IP Strategy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain a forward-looking global IP strategy aligned with business and innovation goals.
  • IP Portfolio Management: Manage and optimize the company's IP portfolio (patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights) across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Commercial & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Advise senior leadership, product, R&D, and marketing teams on IP risks and opportunities tied to innovation and expansion.
  • Enforcement, Dispute Resolution & Risk Management: Oversee and coordinate IP disputes globally (litigation, oppositions, enforcement), engaging with external counsel as required.

Requirements
  • Experience: 8+ years of post-qualification experience in intellectual property law, with in-house experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Proven track record in global IP strategy, including both contentious and non-contentious work; deep understanding of patent, trademark, trade secret, and copyright law across major jurisdictions.
  • Education and Certification: Post-graduate degree in Law from a recognized institution.
