Senior Category Manager for Mining Services

About the Role
Rio Tinto is seeking a Senior Category Manager to lead our Mining Services category, responsible for delivering strategic procurement solutions that drive business value. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement category strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with Rio Tinto's procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Evolving and implementing sub-category strategies related to Mining Services
- Identifying opportunities to uncover new value in safety, productivity, and cash through collaboration with strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Leading the category team to deliver and implement commercial strategies aligned with Rio Tinto's priorities
- Developing and leveraging partnerships to improve Indigenous employment outcomes and conduct sustainable engagement with Local, Indigenous, and Traditional Owner businesses
- Collaborating with Contractor Management teams and strategic suppliers to develop their safety maturity and improve safety performance
- Contributing to driving Global Procurement and BP West Coast cultural and functional priorities as a member of the BP West Extended Leadership Team
Requirements
- Significant work experience in commercial and/or operational roles with prior exposure in managing mining-related categories
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills with proven capability in developing strategic solutions to critical business problems
- Demonstrated ability to coach and lead high-performing teams
- High stakeholder engagement standards with the ability to work across the matrix to drive sustainable outcomes

What We Offer
- A competitive base salary of AU$140,000 - AU$170,000 per annum, depending on experience
