About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Food Safety & Compliance Coordinator to join our team in Melbourne.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about food safety compliance and enjoys conducting audits and improving processes.

As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will support the onsite Food Safety & Compliance Manager, General Manager Quality Assurance, and Operations Manager in maintaining compliance with food safety training and assisting with food safety and Halal regulations.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and demonstrated success in training and auditing. They will also hold tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a similar discipline.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct food safety induction training for all new employees.
  • Facilitate annual food safety refresher training for all employees.
  • Proactively assist staff with on-the-job training to ensure all processes are followed and documented as required.
  • Provide advice, support, and in-depth hands-on training to develop skills and confidence in the team to effectively manage Food Safety/HACCP and risk prevention in their respective areas of responsibility.
  • Investigate, report, and analyse customer complaints, including food poisoning allegations and other safety investigations and supplier non-conformances.
  • Provide specialist Food Safety/HACCP and Halal advice to external and internal stakeholders as required.
  • Conduct Compliance audits and ad-hoc food safety tasks in conjunction with the Food Safety/Quality Assurance Manager.
