**About the Role:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Food Safety Specialist to join our team in Melbourne. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you will play a vital role in maintaining compliance with food safety regulations and ensuring the highest standards of quality in our operations.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Conduct Food Safety Inductions: Provide comprehensive training to new employees on food safety procedures and protocols.
  • Annual Refresher Training: Deliver annual refresher training to all employees to ensure ongoing awareness of food safety best practices.
  • On-the-Job Training: Assist staff with on-the-job training to ensure they follow all processes and document their activities as required.
  • Advice and Support: Offer expert advice and support to develop skills and confidence in the team to effectively manage food safety/HACCP and risk prevention in their areas of responsibility.
  • Performance Issues: Proactively address performance issues by identifying areas of non-conformance, their root cause, and supporting preventative actions.
  • Customer Complaints: Investigate, report, and analyze customer complaints, including food poisoning allegations and other safety investigations, and supplier non-conformances.
  • Compliance Audits: Conduct Compliance audits and ad-hoc food safety tasks in conjunction with the Food Safety/Quality Assurance Manager.

**Requirements:**

  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related discipline.
  • Food Safety Auditing: Experience in food safety auditing (internal and external).
  • HACCP Qualification: HACCP qualification.
  • Food Manufacturing Experience: Experience in a food manufacturing environment involving QA, HACCP, and food safety.
  • Teamwork: Prior experience working within a team.
  • ISO22000 Certification: Prior knowledge/experience in ISO22000:2018 certification.
  • National Police Check: Willingness to obtain a clear National Police Check.
