Cost Capability Analyst

Northern Adelaide based role for experienced Cost Capability Engineer with a background in Maritime Engineering.

Your New Role

  • Undertake capability analysis, complex systems estimation and analysis and assurance activities within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence's mission and business objectives.
  • Provide advice to senior management to support the decision making process and provide input into cost capability trade-off studies; develop trade-study reports, leverage submarine cost estimates, and develop recommendations to support decision making, milestone reviews, government approvals and independent cost assessments;
  • Attend program reviews of submarine design alternatives and cost data during design and construction and whole of life cycle and provide independent analysis to support program decision making;
  • Research and maintain information for use in data analysis and normalisation, to support cost estimation, capability assurance, decision making and program reviews;
  • Communicate with engineering teams, Commercial Section, Navy and wider engineering community with regards to cost engineering; and implement capability level trade-off and decision support policies, processes, methods, tools, training and take the initiative to provide feedback and recommendations.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Maritime Engineering background with extensive cost engineering experience with preferred experience in the submarine field.
  • Bachelor of Engineering degree eligible for Professional Membership with Engineers Australia.
  • To have obtained Engineers Australia Stage 1 competency standard for Professional Engineering recognition (or ability to obtain status as a Professional Engineering within three months).
