Senior Service Officer Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Service Officer to join our payroll team at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. As a Senior Service Officer, you will play a key role in providing high-level payroll services and expertise to facilitate the achievement of the payroll team's deadlines and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert payroll services and support to the payroll team, ensuring compliance with award, taxation, legislative, and audit requirements.
- Lead a team of payroll staff to ensure effective payroll services are delivered in a timely manner.
- Assist Service Officers in creating positive customer experiences and provide support and guidance on payroll administration, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve payroll processes and services.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll services.
- Experience in using a SAP payroll system.
- Experience working in a high-volume payroll area.
- Knowledge of employee entitlements.
- Understanding of awards and industrial instruments.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a large team in a high-volume, ever-changing work environment.
- Confidence to question and suggest improvements.
- Understanding or willingness to understand legislative requirements for employee payments.
- Displays resilience and courage, is accountable, a quick learner, and able to plan and prioritize their work.
