About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Service Officer to join our Payroll team at the NSW Department of Communities and Justice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-level payroll services and expertise to ensure compliance with award, taxation, and legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert payroll services and support to the payroll team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.
  • Lead a team of payroll staff to deliver effective payroll services, promoting a culture of mutual respect, honesty, and integrity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve payroll-related issues and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of payroll systems, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in payroll management, preferably in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems, policies, and procedures, including SAP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, promoting a culture of mutual respect and trust.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex payroll-related issues.
