About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team in the Greater Geelong and Borough of Queenscliff Local Mental Health and Wellbeing Service.

As our new Mental Health & Alcohol and Other Drug (MH&AOD) Support Worker, you will provide vital support to program participants, enabling them, their families, and carers to address their psychosocial, emotional, and alcohol and other drug support needs.

This rewarding role involves walking alongside program participants at every step, from initial conversations to support planning, delivering 1:1 therapeutic psychosocial and alcohol and other drug education and intervention, and ensuring participants, carers, and their families receive valuable and supportive care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualised support to program participants, addressing their specific needs and goals.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care and services.
  • Develop and implement tailored support plans that promote positive outcomes for participants.
  • Engage with community resources and services to enhance participant support and access.

About You

We're looking for an empathetic and caring professional who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in people's lives. As our ideal candidate, you'll have:

  • A relevant degree or Associate Diploma in Psychology, Behavioral Science, Community Services, or Social Welfare, or substantial experience in a related field.
  • Evidence of right to work in Australia.
  • A current full driver's license.
  • National Police Check, Working with Children Check, NDIS Workers Screening check, and International Police Check (if applicable).
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment.
