Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Operator/Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Shoal Bay Leachate Treatment Plant in Darwin.

This is a hands-on role, critical to the ongoing success of the plant's operations and maintenance.

You'll be part of a close-knit team, working with technical experts, contractors, and clients to ensure plant performance, safety, and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Operate and maintain the Shoal Bay Leachate Treatment Plant in accordance with the O&M Manual.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and oversee contractor performance.
  • Prepare and deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Identify and manage safety hazards, ensuring site compliance with WHS and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate deliveries, maintenance of heavy equipment, and site repairs.
  • Keep accurate site records, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and technical teams to achieve operational goals.
  • Organise and manage work permits (Hot Work, Confined Space, Cranage, etc.).
  • Respond to plant shutdowns, failures, and emergency scenarios.
  • Develop preventative maintenance schedules and continual improvement processes.
  • Contribute to R&D and assist on other environmental remediation or waste water projects when required.
