We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Practitioner to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of people with disabilities.
- This role will involve providing individualised support to adults living in group homes, focusing on enabling them to lead rich, independent, and empowered lives.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate empathy and understanding towards clients with diverse needs.
About the Role:This is a permanent part-time position working 15-20+ hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to travel to different clients throughout the Central Coast region.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing respectful support with personal care, mealtimes, medication, and daily routines;
- Encouraging skill-building, independence, and decision-making;
- Supporting community engagement, social connection and transport (including use of CPA vans & in your own vehicle);
- FOLLOWING PERSON-CENTRED PLANS WITH EMPATHY AND PROFESSIONALISM;
- BUILDING POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR CLIENTS.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have:
- A client-focused and growth mindset — you're open to learning and ready to make a difference;
- Professional Behaviour Support experience or lived experience preferred, however your can-do attitude is key;
- A NSW Driver's Licence (P2 or above) and physical capability to support clients with mobility or transfers;
- Availability for a minimum of 3 days per week (15–20+ hours) - Available to work shifts between the hours of 9am and 4pm, including Saturdays;
- Comfortable travelling to all locations in the region (Wyong, Long Jetty & Umina).
