This critical role will support the organisation's regulatory compliance, risk management, and governance frameworks in the travel insurance business.

The Governance Lead will ensure compliance with ASIC, ACCC regulations, as well as the General Insurance Code of Practice (GICOP)

Maintaining governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to meet regulatory obligations is crucial for this position, including ensuring operational teams are prepared for any new legislative changes and requirements.

Oversight of risk and assurance activities within business operations is necessary to ensure effective internal controls are in place to mitigate financial, operational, and reputational risks through regular reviews.

Expert guidance to operational teams on regulatory risks, control effectiveness, and compliance best practices, including monitoring and reporting on regulatory breaches, risk incidents and compliance trends.

This role is based in Brisbane and requires experience in governance, risk, compliance, or assurance within the Australian general insurance industry, ideally with exposure to travel insurance.

A strong track-record in developing and implementing governance frameworks, risk controls, and assurance activities is essential.

Demonstrated ability to lead regulatory compliance programs, assurance reviews, and risk-based decision-making.

Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership skills, with experience influencing compliance culture within an organisation.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate risk.
