About The Role

The Middle Years Team Leader is a key leadership position within the Family, Youth & Children Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the operations, safety, and program compliance at two Adventure Playground sites, while also developing and implementing community engagement initiatives. This role requires a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a proven track record of success in managing dynamic service areas.

Duties
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Middle Years services, including program delivery, staff supervision, and risk management.
  • Develop and implement community engagement initiatives to promote the City of Port Phillip's Middle Years services and programs.
  • Lead the Middle Years team in continuous improvement, program evaluation, policy and procedure review, and advocacy.
  • Report on program achievements, participation levels, challenges, and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and coordination of Middle Years services, programs, and projects for young people across the municipality.
  • Manage the operations and delivery of Middle Years services by providing robust support and supervision to a diverse team of full-time, part-time, and casual staff.
  • Implement and develop the continuous improvement and evaluation processes, including effective communications and advocacy opportunities.
  • Analyse and translate data and information to identify current and future service planning needs and identify strategies to meet these needs.
Requirements
  • Proven leadership and management experience in a community or youth services setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and partnership.
  • Highly developed problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
