Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Financing & Advisory Group in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the origination and execution of structured finance transactions across various sectors, including Mining, Metals, and related industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support advisory mandates, including creating and running financial scenarios and sensitivities.
  • Interrogate financial models for financing mandates, creating and running sensitivities, and ensuring model integrity.
  • Review and supervise financial modeling tasks undertaken by junior staff, and complete more complex modeling tasks as required.
  • Stay up-to-date with sector developments, particularly in Mining & Metals finance, and current market transactions.
  • Provide day-to-day transaction support, including structuring, pricing, credit applications, financial analyses, and due diligence.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant practices and internal requirements for advisory & lending transactions.
  • Manage internal processes related to arranging and advisory business, including database updates and credit application writing.
  • Identify marketing opportunities and prepare pitch material, including reviewing feasibility studies and financial models.
  • Establish a network of contacts at key clients and prospective clients.
  • Supervise and develop junior team members, delegating tasks and reviewing work to maintain high-quality team execution.
Requirements
  • University degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Law) or a professional financial qualification.
  • Postgraduate qualifications considered favorably.
  • Experience in Mining & Metals finance and sector knowledge, or another structured finance environment, will be favorably considered.
  • 3-5 years' relevant experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including strong financial modeling abilities.
  • Experience in generating pitch material that is clear, structured, and comprehensive.
  • Strong numerical skills and understanding of accounting concepts, financial statements, and cashflows.
