Job Title:

Patient Food Service Assistant

">About the Role:

We are seeking experienced hospitality trained Food Services Assistants to join our team on a casual basis and make a valuable contribution to patient experience.

This role assists with menu ordering, preparation, and service of all food and beverages to patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, and possess effective interpersonal skills.

  • Assisting patients with menu ordering
  • Preparation of food for patients
  • Cleaning of kitchen and equipment
  • Providing service to patient rooms and associated areas
  • Working with other hospital team members to optimize the safety, care, and overall experience of patients

Requirements:

Fitness for Duty:

  • Food Handlers Certificate (or willingness to undertake)
  • Knowledge of culinary and nutritional terminology including diet codes (preferable)
  • Experience in a food service industry or service industry of at least 12 months (highly regarded)
  • A willingness to learn and follow directives
  • Well-developed communication skills including proficiency in written and spoken English
