About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Supervised Family Engagement Specialist to join our dynamic team at Challenge Community Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in facilitating safe and meaningful family time for children and young people in the Permanency Support Program (Out of Home Care) with their families and significant others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate family engagement and support to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, children, and young people to build trust and confidence.
  • Provide written updates and reports to ensure thorough communication and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach to family support.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in family engagement and support.

Requirements:

  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with others.
  • Written communication skills, including the ability to write reports and complete formal documentation in relevant software programs.
  • Individual and team work. Ability to think quickly on your feet and make informed decisions in complex situations.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work non-standard hours as required.
  • Required Checks: A current NSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement), NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willingness to obtain), and full COVID vaccination status.
  • Driving License: Possession of an Australian Driver's License.
  • Qualification in Human Services, Certificate IV or Diploma in Community Services is highly desirable.
