Embedded Linux Engineer for IoT

As a key member of our global distributed collaboration, you will play a vital role in helping customers succeed with their embedded Linux projects. Our platform, Ubuntu, is widely used in breakthrough enterprise initiatives such as public cloud, data science, AI, and IoT.

Our customers include leading public cloud and silicon providers, as well as industry leaders in various sectors. We are a pioneer of remote work with over 1,000 colleagues across 70+ countries.

Teams meet regularly in person to align on strategy and execution. You will engage with customers during the sales process, gather requirements, and explain our technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers during the pre-sales process to gather requirements and explain our technology.
  • Elaborate solutions for prospective clients.
  • Participate in the delivery of select projects related to Embedded Linux.
  • Convey market requirements to stakeholders and sometimes participate in the development or refinement of generic solutions to unlock market potential.
  • Act as both a customer advocate and trusted advisor to us.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Extensive Linux experience, preferably Debian or Ubuntu.
  • Distribution and packaging experience (deb, rpm, etc.).
  • Solid embedded Linux experience (Yocto, Buildroot, etc.).
  • Fluency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Professional written and spoken English, along with proficiency in the local language.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Result-oriented with ability to multitask.
  • A personal drive to meet commitments.
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
  • Will travel up to 30% of the time for customer meetings, company events, and conferences.
