Job Title

Project Officer - Plant Pest Management

A challenging opportunity exists for an experienced project officer to contribute to the management of plant pests and diseases in Western Australia.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term, full-time position that offers the successful applicant the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to biodiversity conservation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing strategies for managing environmental plant pests and diseases.
  • Preparing and delivering correspondence, reports, briefings, training, management and communications plans for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analysing and interpreting data to inform advice, support and recommendations.
  • Developing projects, policies, guidelines and procedures.
Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following four criteria:

  • Knowledge and experience in the management of plant pests and diseases for biodiversity conservation outcomes or equivalent experience in an allied field.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills and experience in effectively liaising and negotiating with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, including demonstrated experience in report writing using word processing, spreadsheet and/or database and presenting results to others using PowerPoint software.
  • Demonstrated ability to undertake project work with limited direction and strong project management skills.
