About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to major transport projects in North Queensland. Reporting to the Section Leader of Tunnel and Ground Engineering, this role offers an exciting opportunity to analyse and assess soil and rock properties under various conditions.

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing foundations for structures, evaluating slope stability and providing solutions for complex ground-related challenges. You'll be involved in all stages of projects, from initial site investigations to final design and construction support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting field investigations
  2. Interpreting geotechnical data
  3. Performing advanced soil and rock mechanics analyses
  4. Developing detailed design recommendations
  5. Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams

You'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, such as highways, bridges, slope assessments, deep excavations, retaining structures and ground improvement techniques. Your expertise in geotechnical software and ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical engineering problems will be highly valued.

As a senior member of the team, you'll also play a vital role in mentoring junior staff, sharing your knowledge and experience to nurture their growth.
