About the Role

This is a key leadership position within a School of Population Health, overseeing and advancing outstanding nursing education and research at national and international levels.

As Professor and Discipline Lead, you will drive the development, delivery, and enhancement of high-quality nursing education for the Faculty.

You will also foster strong research partnerships and advance the reputation of the organization through interdisciplinary research in health systems and nursing, ensuring alignment with national priorities, workforce needs, and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, deliver, and enhance high-quality nursing education for the Faculty, driving academic excellence and innovation.
  • Foster strong research partnerships and advance the reputation of the organization through interdisciplinary research in health systems and nursing, leveraging collaborations and expertise to achieve strategic goals.
  • Ensure alignment with national priorities, workforce needs, and strategic objectives, driving impact and relevance in nursing education and research.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A PhD in Nursing or related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience, demonstrating academic excellence and leadership potential.
  • Evidence of academic excellence in nursing education and research, with a national/international profile, showcasing expertise and contributions to the field.
  • Registered Nurse eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), with a strong commitment to patient-centered care and safety.
  • Experience with curriculum accreditation and alignment with NMBA and TEQSA standards, driving quality and accountability in nursing education.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, fostering innovative and effective learning experiences.
  • Development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, showcasing expertise and versatility in nursing education.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others, driving a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Demonstrated experience with industry or work-integrated learning, providing students with real-world skills and applications in nursing practice.
