About the Role

This esteemed position offers a unique opportunity to lead and advance outstanding nursing education and research at a national and international level. As a Professor and Discipline Lead, Nursing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping high-quality nursing education for the faculty, fostering strong research partnerships, and advancing the reputation of UNSW through interdisciplinary research in health systems and nursing.

  • Foster a culture of academic excellence in nursing education, teaching, and research.
  • Develop, deliver, and enhance high-quality nursing education programs that align with national priorities and workforce needs.
  • Advance research partnerships with industry and academia, ensuring alignment with UNSW's Progress for All strategy.
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A PhD in Nursing or a related discipline, or relevant work experience.
  • Evidence of academic excellence in nursing education and research, with a national/international profile.
  • Registered Nurse eligibility for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
  • Experience with curriculum accreditation and alignment with NMBA and TEQSA standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching and learning design using various pedagogical approaches, course development, and delivery at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence and fostering this in others.
  • Demonstrated experience with industry or work-integrated learning.
  • Evidence of professional development of teaching practice in self and others, with the ability to advance and lead an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.
