  • Providing authentic leadership that positively influences, supports, builds and nurtures relationships.
  • Strategically leading cross-sector investment initiatives aligned with the Queensland Trade and Investment Strategy, leveraging global trends and sectoral insights to drive high-impact economic outcomes.
  • Supporting the Global Investment Commissioner to lead and manage the GIA team, including providing direction across a diverse range of industry sectors and investment projects.
  • Engaging with overseas investors to provide advice on current and proposed investment projects to achieve successful investment outcomes.
, Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Proven ability to successfully lead high-performing, forward-focused teams, building capability and inspiring individuals and the team to achieve results in a client-facing environment.
  • Demonstrated strategic and operational leadership with expertise in business development, budget management, governance, risk mitigation and an ability to manage competing priorities, multiple clients and projects within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with international businesses, extensive knowledge of investment attraction and facilitation, and ideally detailed knowledge in one or more of the Queensland Government's key industry sectors.
  • Thinks strategically, and brings sound commercial acumen, an understanding of global trends and the credibility and networks to contribute substantially to international investment activities.
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication and negotiation skills, with the demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
