About the Role

Our organization is seeking an experienced Youth Program Director to lead our Staying on Track program. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of this important initiative, which supports young people aged 10–17 leaving detention to successfully return to their families and communities.

The Staying on Track program is part of the Queensland Government's Making Queensland Safe plan. This outreach program aims to reduce the risk of reoffending by engaging with young people while they are still in detention, building trust and connection. The support continues as they transition home, helping them to re-engage in education, employment, and community life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Youth Advocates to deliver the Staying on Track program
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage with young people in detention and support their transition back into the community
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies and community organizations, to ensure effective service delivery
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading youth programs and teams
  • Strong understanding of the needs of young people in detention and their families
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
