Job Title

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service is seeking a Psychiatrist to fill the role of Medical Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical specialist Psychiatry support to CYMHS, as well as acting as Medical Director for the first 3 years.

About the Role:

  • This position provides an opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care and contribute to the development of a culture of medical education.
  • The Medical Director role will involve clinically managing the associated patient care team and providing professional leadership to the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evidence of vaccination against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
  • Tuberculosis screening.
  • Declaration of serious discipline history.
  • MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, plus FRANZCP or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
  • Certificate of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or an acceptable equivalent.
  • Experience in Youth Mental Health highly regarded.
  • Strong clinical and teaching experience in Child and Youth Mental Health.
