The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart is seeking a skilled and experienced Night Duty Manager to join our team. As a Night Duty Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless and transformative guest experiences while undertaking administrative and communication duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process all guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, and room change/late check-out requests, secure payment, activate/reissue room keys, resolve guest calls, and provide consistent outstanding guest experience in everything that you do.
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example.
  • Supervise and manage employees, manage all day-to-day operations, understand employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence.
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensure employees do the same within the team.
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Assist in the response and resolution of all guest issues received directly from guests or from Guest Relations.
  • Monitor that the supervisor is researching/processing all chargebacks and rebates on a timely basis.
  • Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiate with others.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with all departments to support property operations and goals and to expedite the resolution of any problems that may arise through the general operation of the property.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Front Office Duty Manager.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Thorough follow-up, strong attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to emotionally connect with guests and provide superior levels of service.
  • Conflict resolution experience.
  • Must have the flexibility to work on a 24-hour rotating roster, including public holidays and weekends.
  • Experience of OPERA property management system is a distinct advantage.
  • Must have full working rights for Australia.
