
Mental Health Specialist

The role requires delivering high-quality mental health interventions and managing a full client caseload, including intake, assessment, and care coordination. This involves monitoring and managing clinical risk in consultation with supervisors and participating in regular clinical supervision.
Frequent travel to isolated communities is necessary to provide in-person support and refer clients within the stepped care framework. Effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders is required to support client outcomes and promote the service through community engagement.
Maintaining accurate clinical records, upholding confidentiality, and contributing to quality improvement and governance activities are also essential aspects of this role.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Mental Health Social Work, Psychology (generalist or clinical), or Credentialled Mental Health Nursing is required.
- At least five years of clinical experience supporting individuals across all age groups in mental health settings is expected.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, intervention, and care planning, as well as a deep understanding of challenges faced by rural and remote communities, are necessary for success.
- Satisfactory completion of safety screening, including a current Working with Children's Check, National Police Check, and the right to work in Australia, is mandatory.
