About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at Life Without Barriers. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Person-Centred Support: Provide person-centred support and behaviour plans to ensure the well-being and safety of our clients.
  • Client Goal Achievement: Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities and support the development of individualised plans.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain thorough and accurate record keeping to ensure the smooth delivery of services.
  • Relationship Building: Build positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Client Advocacy: Advocate for client choice and control, ensuring that their rights and needs are respected and met.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience working with people with disabilities, including providing personal care and support.
  • Skills: An unrestricted Australian driver's licence, confidence and ability to drive a large wheelchair van, and a current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
  • Personal Qualities: A compassionate and empathetic approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
