About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and live independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily activities, such as meal preparation, personal care, and mobility assistance
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to participants
  • Assist with household tasks, such as cleaning and laundry
  • Transport participants to medical appointments and social outings
  • Assist with medication management and provide education on medication usage
  • Support participants to engage in community activities and promote social inclusion
  • Assist with financial management and provide support with shopping and banking
  • Support participants to achieve their individual goals, including preparation for employment and volunteering
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a relevant industry or equivalent level of expertise and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the NDIS Code of Conduct and guidelines
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Choice and Control and Person-centred approaches
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Behavioural Support principles and guidelines
  • Intermediate IT skills in word processing and email programs
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and mutually beneficial relationships
  • Intermediate problem solving, consultation and negotiation skills
  • Intermediate written and comprehension skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and make informed decisions under pressure
  • Ability to work within a diverse team environment
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to changes or specific participant requirements
