Job Title: Commodities Market Reporter

We are seeking a skilled Commodities Market Reporter to join our team in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of our news team, you will be responsible for writing news and market analysis for our live news website, daily, weekly, and monthly publications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Write daily news stories on developments in the Australian commodities sector.
  • Write in-depth analyses and feature stories for daily, weekly, and monthly publications.
  • Develop and maintain good rapport with critical sources to become a subject matter expert in the commodities market.
  • Develop new contacts to aid with newsgathering and general market intelligence.
  • Attend and cover industry conferences.
  • Write insightful and well-researched market analyses with a strong focus on the use of data.
  • Contribute to white papers, webinars, and blogs.
Requirements:
  • A strong bachelor's degree in Economics, Journalism, Communications, Business, or a relevant field.
  • An investigative mind and good writing skills.
  • Prior experience working in financial or commodities journalism is beneficial but optional.
  • Interest in and enthusiasm for commodities, energy markets, global business, politics, and economics.
  • Experience delivering breaking news, insightful market reports, and in-depth analytical articles is a bonus.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to network and build contacts with industry executives.
