The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is a world-class specialist hospital in eye and ear care, providing services across Victoria.

As Australia's only specialist eye, ear, nose, and throat hospital, it has been providing care for the senses for 150 years.

The hospital provides almost 60 different outpatient clinics for the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of vision and hearing loss.

It also offers a 24-hour emergency eye and ear, nose, and throat service, caring for over 220,000 patients every year.

The hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment to improve access for patients, visitors, and staff.

About the Role:

This role involves collaborating with the hospital team to develop and implement an improvement program for elective surgery reform work.

This will aim to improve access to quality elective surgery and reduce waiting times for both the hospital and the health sector.

The successful candidate will need to have experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs to achieve priority objectives within the public sector.

They will be required to establish project governance processes and structures to ensure strong governance and delivery against agreed commitments.

Additionally, they will need to engage and build relationships with key stakeholders, including Partner representatives, the Department of Health, and other health sector stakeholders.

The role requires excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

- Support and facilitate the development of an improvement program for elective surgery reform work

- Develop and implement plans to improve access and reduce waiting times for elective surgery

- Establish project governance processes and structures

- Engage and build relationships with key stakeholders

- Undertake data analysis to inform improvement initiatives

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

- Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs in the public sector

- Strong project management skills, including establishing project governance processes and structures

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
