The Elective Surgery Operations Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of the Elective Surgery Bookings Office. This team provides waiting list management services to our hospitals in Parkville and Sandringham.

The successful candidate will provide strategic direction to waiting list management in accordance with our Health Service Agreement, Statement of Priorities and Strategic Plan. They will review, develop and implement strategies to provide an efficient service, lead the bookings team in a positive culture workplace and achieve both Unit and Hospital goals.

They will also forecast admissions and plan for elective surgery activity to achieve KPIs, manage internal HR coordination within the Bookings Office, including recruitment and retention, leave management and orientation of new staff.

A high level of professionalism is required, with effective communication and timely decision-making with staff. The role requires participation and support in agreed audits, data collection and documentation for accreditation processes and seeking to continually improve standards and outcomes.

Recent clinical management/leadership experience and extensive knowledge of Elective Surgery Information Systems (ESIS) reporting and DHHS elective surgery policies & manuals are essential requirements for this role.
