Leading Academic in Sport and Exercise Science

We are seeking a distinguished academic to lead our Sport and Exercise Science program.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for shaping the future of education in this field. They should have a proven track record as an effective teacher, researcher, and leader, with a commitment to making a positive impact in the health sector.
Key Responsibilities:- Developing and delivering innovative curriculum in sport and exercise science education;
- Conducting impactful research, securing grants, publishing widely, and mentoring future researchers;
- Contributing to governance, strategy, and initiatives that enhance the school and university;
- Building partnerships, collaborating on real-world projects, and creating opportunities that benefit students and society.
Qualifications:
- Doctoral qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA);
- Proven track record as an effective teacher, the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching;
- Solid and established track record of research activity commensurate with the level of the position;
- Sound leadership contributions and personal qualities that influence the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment which is conducive to high levels of engagement and standards of achievement for both staff and students;
- Participation and success in academic administrative functions e.g. program coordination, within a university;
- Membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups and/or in professional practice;
- Evidence of regular participation in academic development activities and the desire to continue to learn and improve as an effective academic.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Postgraduate qualifications in higher education;
- Formal external and/or internal recognition for excellence in learning and teaching and/or research.
