We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Town Planner to join our team.

Job Description

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to apply their planning knowledge in a practical setting and build foundational skills in statutory planning, development assessment, and community engagement. You'll work closely with experienced planners to support the delivery of high-quality outcomes across a diverse and growing community.

As a Graduate Town Planner, you will be responsible for providing planning and development information through Council's Duty Planner service, preparing assessment reports and determinations on development applications and subdivision certificates, undertaking site inspections and preparing supporting documentation, coordinating internal and external stakeholder feedback on development matters, responding to enquiries at the customer service counter, via email, and by phone, and meeting statutory and Council timeframes and contributing to the delivery of efficient development services.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning (or nearing completion)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of relevant Acts, statutory planning processes, and customer service delivery
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally in a fast-paced environment
