About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Secure Extended Care Unit. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients with complex mental health needs.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the recovery model and be able to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes. You will also have the ability to lead and support a team of occupational therapists, providing guidance and expertise as needed.

Key Responsibilities- Provide occupational therapy services to patients in the Secure Extended Care Unit, including assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in consultation with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Lead and support a team of occupational therapists, providing guidance and expertise as needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Experience working in a mental health setting, preferably in a secure or forensic environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
