Speech Development Therapist

The primary role of this position will include assessment, ongoing therapy both individual and small group, and liaising with parents and classroom teachers to provide comprehensive support for students' speech development.
Some of the key responsibilities are:
- Provide in-school speech pathology screenings, diagnostic evaluations and assessments to identify students' needs and develop targeted plans for improvement.
- Deliver small group and individual intervention services to help students overcome speech development challenges and reach their full potential.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, treatment, and progress to ensure seamless communication with STC staff and parents.
- Collaborate with teachers and Learning Support Officers to provide planning support and professional learning in the area of speech development for children.
- Participate in the Student Wellbeing Team, meeting every Monday to discuss student needs and develop strategies for support.
- Take on additional duties as directed by school Leadership to ensure the school's mission is achieved.
This role requires a passionate, organised, and motivated individual with a desire to make a difference in the lives of students. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills, prioritisation, and organisational skills.
The ideal candidate will have recently completed their Speech Pathology qualification and be registered with the relevant authorities. They will also possess a Working with Children Check and be willing to function autonomously and as part of a team.
St Christopher's School offers a competitive salary, commensurate with the position's requirements and the candidate's experience, with an estimated annual salary of $90,000 to $110,000. This salary range is based on the school's commitment to attracting and retaining exceptional professionals who share our values and mission.
