Job Title: NDIS Speech Pathologist

HealthcareLink is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech Pathologist to join our team. As an NDIS Speech Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, effective, and efficient services to participants in their homes or other relevant places. Your goal will be to support participants in achieving their NDIS goals and increasing their communication and independence in all aspects of their lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of participants with increasing complexity, multiple comorbidities, and functional limitations.
  • Conduct assessments and provide recommendations on the functional impact of disability on positioning, eating, and swallowing.
  • Develop and implement mealtime management plans in consultation with Speech Pathologists from mainstream medical services, medical specialists, and other allied health disciplines.
  • Assess, prescribe, and recommend AAC systems under the NDIS and other external funding agencies.
  • Utilize a strengths-based, client-centered approach to support participants in identifying their goals and achieving long-term sustainability.
  • Report outcomes and recommendations in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
  • Membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Previous experience in the relevant industry.
  • Appropriate on-the-job training and relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the NDIS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in integrated health, allied health, and primary care.
  • Knowledge and experience in AAC, assessing function for positioning, eating, and swallowing, and mealtime management.
