Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to provide strategic direction while ensuring efficient delivery of patient-centred care. Key responsibilities include managing resources effectively, leading a dynamic team and contributing to the overall success of the hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Operational leadership and management of the Medical and Rehabilitation Ward.
  • Ensure high-quality patient care by effectively managing human, financial and material resources.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement and accreditation processes, adhering to National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards (NSQHS) and Workplace Health and Safety protocols.
  • Support and mentor less experienced nursing staff, promoting continuous learning and development.
  • Ensure a safe and effective work environment through active management of Workplace Health and Safety concerns.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to developing in a management role, a passion for patient care and a commitment to professional development. Essential skills and qualifications include:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA.
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience at NUM level or equivalent.
  • Experience in the Acute setting.
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong commitment to developing in a management role.
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer-focused care.
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office and various databases.
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management.
  • Demonstrated HR management experience.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Strong understanding of patient flow.
