Job Title: Accounting Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, leadership, and people management.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Australian finance team through ongoing integration with our Japanese-based parent company, Renesas. This includes ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with IFRS, and collaborating with global teams to drive integration success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the financial month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date financial results.
  • Prepare and review financial results for submission to the global consolidation team.
  • Oversee the preparation of consolidated and local subsidiary financial reports; liaise with local audit teams.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial reporting outputs and collaborate with internal stakeholders and the Financial Leadership team.
  • Partner with regional teams to optimize finance systems for accurate, consistent reporting and informed decision-making.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in managing financial risks, controls, and coordination of finance activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in internal controls and financial processes.
  • Prepare annual statutory financial reports and manage local technical accounting matters (e.g., impairment assessments, IFRS interpretations).
  • Serve as a key contact for external auditors, addressing audit processes and technical accounting issues.
  • Champion the adoption of global accounting policies and provide technical accounting support.
  • Actively contribute to the successful execution of post-merger integration initiatives across finance functions and ad-hoc finance projects.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels through effective communication, collaboration, and business partnering.
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture and strong team engagement.

Requirements:

  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Minimum 6 years' experience in financial reporting or a related field.
  • Proven experience in fast-paced, dynamic finance environments.
  • Exposure to international reporting standards; IFRS expertise essential.
  • Experience with Netsuite, DIVA, and Adaptive Planning is highly desirable.
  • Strong initiative, results-driven, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build trust and adapt quickly to change in a global, collaborative environment.
