The Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join the Student Support Services (SSS) team. As a SSS Practitioner, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing assessment, consultation, support, and program advice to improve teaching, learning, and wellbeing strategies for students requiring support.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people, their families, schools, and communities. You will work collaboratively with other SSS team members to develop and implement strategies that promote student engagement, inclusion, and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To provide assessment, consultation, support, and program advice to improve teaching, learning, and wellbeing strategies for students requiring support
  • To work collaboratively with other SSS team members to develop and implement strategies that promote student engagement, inclusion, and academic achievement
  • To communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and carers
  • To work autonomously and as part of a team to achieve outcomes

In order to succeed in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will also need to have a strong understanding of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed practices, and complex presentations.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Psi Chi #8221 Must hold appropriate Registration credentials (#0000l,B), registration 100/####%. AHCPS || BD 00/X)
  • Required skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Working Conditions:

This role involves working in a busy office environment with regular meetings and interactions with colleagues and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as needed.
