About the Role

This Senior Architect position plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Westpac's Payments domain. As part of our close-knit team, you will work closely with stakeholders to develop architectural solutions that drive business outcomes and improve customer experiences.


Job Description
  • Analyzing Business and Technology Landscape: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and design effective technology solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Ensuring Effective Representation: Work with business users, technology groups, and suppliers to ensure accurate representation of business/technical requirements in solutions.
  • Tracking Technology Requirements: Contribute to IT impact assessments to understand the impact of changes to requirements across all phases.
  • Improving Methodologies and Processes: Participate in the improvement of methodologies and processes for functional design activities to ensure continuous improvement of technology and business outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Significant Solution Architecture Experience: Proven experience in designing and implementing merchant acquiring and payment acceptance solutions across various channels.
  • Vendor and Industry Expertise: Familiarity with vendors, payment gateways, card scheme networks, and industry bodies around innovations and mandates.
  • Customer-Centric Design: Experience in designing customer-centric merchant digital originations and servicing journeys.
  • Additional Experience: Health (PHI) Payments or Cards experience highly regarded.
  • Information Security Concepts: Understanding of information security concepts and how they can be applied to deliver secure solutions appropriate for financial services organizations.
